Scientists Say That Short Wives and Tall Husbands Have the Happiest Marriages

Scientific research can really shock you nowadays. This new study now reveals that tall husbands and short wives are most likely to have happy and successful marriages. Have you ever thought that being short or tall can really influence your happiness in marriage? However, it’s not all black-and-white. Variables such as culture, nationality, race, sex, employment, education can all influence a study’s results. Let’s see what the details of this study are about.

The outcome of a 2017 study with 8,000 Indonesian participants found a correlation between a husband’s height and his wife’s perceived happiness. The taller the husband and the more inches which separate the two physically, the more significant pleasure the wife will have. Though after 18 years of marriage, there appeared to be a substantial drop off in this delight.

You might think the wife’s perceived happiness is only due to the inches between her and her spouse. Not so. There are other factors that can also contribute to this emotion. The man’s income, self-esteem, and confidence also play a key role in her overall joy.

The study also revealed how taller husbands might have better earning potential resulting in more gratification among their spouses. Taller men may appear more trustworthy and capable to employers. Thus, they might be first considered for raises and promotions. However, in the overall scheme of things, a man’s resourcefulness was only a minor factor when compared to his height and her happiness.

If you check this study, you will find out that a direct correlation between intelligence and height really exists. Based on the results of this research, scientists stated that taller men really are smarter. But it is important to say that the study does not claim that all short people are not so smart. This is just an average result across the study.

Another study was conducted in order to find the answer to the following question, “Is height important in matters of the heart?” The answer is yes. 601 women took part in this research and shared their opinions:

• Something just feels weird in thinking about looking ‘down’ into my man’s eyes.
• There is also something to be said about being able to wear shoes with high heels and still being shorter.
• I also want to be able to hug him with my arms reaching up and around his neck.
• As the girl, I like to feel delicate and secure at the same time.

The study also pointed out one’s height shouldn’t be a dealbreaker in relationships. As a study made in 2010 pointed out, women didn’t feel more attracted to taller men who showed romantic interest in them. In the end, it’s all about love, empathy, trust, and communication, among other things that make a relationship last.

An interesting conclusion was drawn by Boguslaw Pawlowski, a Polish anthropologist. He found that money, respect, and trust are not something we should care about when choosing a life partner. What really matters is the height difference ratio. According to his study a man needs to be 1.09 times taller.

Do you want to know which couples into fit this success ratio? Here are some examples the researcher introduced:

Cherie Blair and Tony Blair = 1.10
Victoria Beckham and David Beckham = 1.09
